Meet our Rector
Canon Adrienne Galligan
When I was being interviewed by Archbishop Empey regarding my sense of call to ordained ministry, he asked why I was changing from one vocation, i.e. teaching, to another - parochial ministry. For me it seemed then, and still does, that both ministries complement each other,
the difference being I am no longer preparing students at 2nd level for state exams but rather handling the Living Word and what it can teach us all about God’s purpose for our lives and his creation.
Meet our Curate Assistant
Revd Mike Buchanan
Now that I have arrived in the parish of Rathfarnham, I’ve been reflecting on my faith journey,
my life experience, and the many twists and turns which culminated in my ordination to the priesthood in June of 2024.
Meet our Diocesan Reader
Joan Forsdyke
I grew up in Hertfordshire. After studying Biology at the University of East Anglia I completed a Ph.D in Microbial Genetics at Trinity College, and a Higher Diploma in Education. I then lectured in Microbiology and Genetics at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
I met Tom, my husband, in Dublin and we are blessed with two sons and four granddaughters.
My Christian journey started when we joined Rathfarnham parish, a caring, faith community. Inspired to become more involved, I took the Archbishop’s Course in Theology and then trained
to be a Diocesan Reader. I feel very privileged to participate in the Christian mission of our parish and diocese.
